SITE DESIGN: Our design team begins with a thorough review of the building lot, emphasizing siting of the home (driveways, trees, rock outcroppings, view corridors), solar gain (where possible though not essential), and preservation of natural surroundings.

INTERIOR INSULATION: Blown cellulose insulation, sealing and caulking of all exterior perforations, window glass with various energy efficient properties depending on their location in the house, and energy heel trusses minimize heat loss.

NO FURNACE: Our most energy efficient option utilizes a flash boiler for continuous domestic hot water (no more cold showers!) which is also integrated with a heat recovery ventilator to provide comfortable, reliable heating at surprisingly low cost of operation. ($300.00 annually for a 5000 square foot home, as determined by Energy Rated Homes of Colorado, an independent, government-supported testing group).
